The Moors and Christians battle (2-nd August, Pollensa):
The traditional battle between the Moors and Christians is celebrated every 2-nd of August during the festivity of the Patron Saint “Virgin Mary”, the most significant bank holiday of Pollensa within the whole year.
Almost every resident goes out and takes part in a simulation of the battle of wooden swords, the Christians wearing white and the Moors colorful gowns.
The battle begins in the l´Almonia square and finishes in the main square, there are three encounters or fights where the Moors and Christians face each other.
You will have a chance to get to know the culture of the zone enjoying the unique ambience and making the most of summer fiesta in Majorca.
Fiesta des Vermar (date due to confirm, Binnisalem):
Say goodbye to the summer season in Binnisalem, the area which becomes a great fiesta zone during the last two weeks of September celebrating the end of the grape harvest. The event attracts people from all over the island offering all sorts of attractions such as wine tasting, pressing grapes´ competition or grape launching contest. And that is not all, you will also find various exhibitions, “ball de bot” – typical Majorcan dance, parades of carriages related to wine world…
